Casey Medlock Paul
Education
Casey received her bachelor's degree with a double major in English and Spanish in 2010 from Samford University in Birmingham, AL. She went on to obtain her Master's in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL. After teaching high school for 3 years, she returned to graduate school at North Carolina State University to pursue her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction, which she completed in 2018.
Training and Teaching Experience
Casey taught high school Spanish for 3 years. She taught grades 9-12, Spanish 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and AP. During her doctoral program, she co-taught ECI 546: New Literacies and Media (graduate) and ECI 451: Reading in the Content Areas (undergraduate), both online courses. During 2018-2019, Casey served as a lecturer at NC State, where she taught ECI 546 and ECI 541, both online graduate courses.

Casey has given presentations on various topics, such as utilizing Adult Learning Theory to translate learning into practice, using technology to enhance education at all levels, and employing inquiry-based learning in the classroom. See the full list of presentations and examples.

She has also developed many e-learning modules using Storyline Articulate (though she is also able to use Adobe Captivate).
​
Additionally she has produced webinars using Webex for organizations, edited video presentations using Camtasia, and organized and coordinated a Virtual Conference. As part of her work, Casey helps translate complex technical and academic research into language that is easily understandable.
She has served as a Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator and am familiar with Brightspace, Blackboard, iCohere, Canvas, and Moodle. Caseycan easily learn new systems as well.
